Street Food – The Salman Khan of Gastronomy

Full of masala, in your face ‘take it or leave it’ attitude, sinful, overloaded with local flavor, in popular demand, har dil ki pasand, dumdaar baar baar lagatar! – Street Food aka Indian Fast Food aka Salman Khan of gastronomy. Yummy ki mummy!

Don’t ever take street food for granted. This food demands respect, may be that is the reason that you have to stand and eat it everywhere. *deep thought man!* *introspective mode on!*

Being from Delhi, I am still struggling to find a place in Bangalore for good golgappa 😦 But here are a few raapchandus items from Delhi & Bombay that you would surely enjoy. You would have loads of recommendations as well, so bring it on.

5. Khichiya Papad at Khao Gali, Mumbai

If my vegetarian friends have survived through all the ammunition of meat on this post till now, then they deserve this B-)

Sigdi pe sikta hua khichiya papad ho ya munh pe padte masala coke ke bulbule… 100% Veg Jain bakery or Vegetarian Bar. You will get everything at Khao Gali. Khali Bali Khali Bali Khali Bali!

6. Greek salad at Greko, Off Carter Road, Mumbai

This one redefined my concept of salads for good. I’ve always found salads as a wastage of stomach space and appetite but if your salad has multiple pieces of crispy chicken and BACON (♥ xoxo) loaded with thick mayo sauce, then true love has been found… *dreamy eyes*

7. Kachori with Aloo Sabzi at Lajpat Nagar market, Delhi.

One of my top choices in Delhi but don’t have a picture yet.

Broken Kachori pieces dipped in spicy aloo sabzi. Gulp it down with thick sweet lassi malai maar ke at Lajpat Nagar market.

These were just a few of those highly underrated Indian fast food items. There is so much more in every nook and corner of our cities. So do me a favor and start walking…

P.S. Don’t call him Sallu Bhai in any comment please or be ready for an impromptu retort ‘Bhai Hoga Tera!’ 😀
